How does Vervox answer my calls?
You set up call forwarding on your phone using the carrier dial code we provide. When you can’t answer, calls are forwarded to your Vervox AI receptionist, which picks up instantly, has a natural conversation with the caller, and sends you the details via SMS and email.
Does the AI actually sound human?
Yes. The conversational lane uses Google’s Gemini Live audio-native model. It hears your caller’s accent, suburb name and tone in real time, so it can be interrupted, slow down, and pronounce Aussie place names naturally. Most callers don’t realise they’re speaking to AI.
Is Vervox built for Australia?
Yes. Calls and data live in AWS Sydney (ap-southeast-2), pricing is in AUD, you get an AU local number on every plan, the AI defaults to your local timezone, and support is AU-based. You’ll never get a US area code call-back or a USD invoice.
Does it work with my existing phone number?

Can the AI actually book appointments, not just take messages?
Yes — that’s what Smart Booking does. The AI reads your service catalogue, checks live availability, can take a deposit via Stripe mid-call, and writes the confirmed booking to a Vervox-native calendar or your connected Google Calendar.
Can I take a deposit before a booking is confirmed?
Yes. Per-service deposits are configurable. When a caller books a deposit-required service, the AI texts them a secure Stripe checkout link during the call. The slot is held for up to 2 hours; if payment clears, the booking is confirmed automatically.
How quickly do I get notified about a new lead?
Email is sent the moment the call ends, usually within seconds. Urgent and emergency calls also trigger an SMS. If you install the dashboard to your home screen you’ll also get web push notifications, plus stale-lead reminders if you forget to call someone back.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. All plans are month-to-month with no lock-in. You can also start with Pay As You Go — a low monthly base plus a per-minute rate. Cancel anytime from your settings page.
How long does setup take?

Where is my call data stored? Is it Privacy Act compliant?
Calls and recordings live in AWS Sydney (ap-southeast-2). Vervox is operated by an Australian entity registered in VIC, and personal information is handled in line with the Privacy Act 1988. From settings you can self-serve a full data export or delete your account entirely.
